Phoca vitulina
June 18 Barrow, Alaska. In an area where the water
flows across the road (cutting it) from Family
Lagoon to the ocean there was an eskimo
boat with 2 seals by it. The smaller was
a harbor seal (about 3 1/2 feet long); the other
a bearded seal. The eskimos are reported to favor
seal meat above other.
