Tipulidae, Chironomidae, small annelids, Staphylinidae, and collembolla seem to be the insects frequently found in these samples. 1830-2300 finished reading Cadei Ecology of the Peregrine and Gyrfalcon in Alaska. June 23 - Processed a number of birds that had been in the back room for a few days. Also closed live traps in preparation for a trip to Wales with Holmer. Counted insects in soil samplers this afternoon. Put up a R-B that had been in back. Birds should not be per- mitted to lie in back more than a day or two - they soon are too rotten to put up.
