Sullivan 1961 Stercorarius pomarinus - pomarine jaeger Barrow, Alaska June 9 June 9, 1961 vicinity of central marsh. hunts alone - flies over area searching. June 11 5 on water to north of central marsh 1 was sitting on ice, other standing in shallow water close by. 3 flew off; 2 of these returned. June 12 With Chamberlain - saw 8 pomarine jaegers in central marsh. 2 groups of 2 birds each + 4 together. June 13 1 flew over while putting out live traps - flying west toward ABL. Jaegers at Barrow are apparently of the light color phase. June 15 Along beach ridge - 3 pomarinus flew by (singly) between 0745 and 0830. June 18 1820 - a dark phase bird flew over Family Lagoon. Holmes and I watched him - on the way to check traps.
