Journal Sullivan Barrow, Alaska June 19 0800-1000 Checked snap trap lines III A + III B, and live trap sets I + II. 1000-1200 finished reading Thompson's 1955 Ecology of the Lemmings. Processed some longspurs and sandpipers. 1300-1600 helped Holmer count insects in sod samples. 1600-1720 read Arctic Biology. 1800-1930 checked trap lines. A light amount of snow was falling in the Voth Area while checking the traps. It was windy and cold. 1930- 2030 worked on field notes. June 20 0800-0930 Counted insects in sod samples for Holmer's shore bird food availability work. 0930-1030 Checked snap trap lines III A + III B with Holmer and Bohracker. 1030-1605 Holmer, Bohracker, and I went to Likroavik Lake, where Holmer has his study plot. Holmer and I did a corner of his area. Apparently birds are not nearly so abundant as last year. Weather was alternately cloudy and cool and rainy. 1630-1720 Checked live traps. 1800-1930- Checked snap trap lines III A and III B. June 21 0800-1005 Checked live traps and took a census walk along the gas line (between beach ridge and gas line ridge). 1005-1200 counted insect samples from Holmer's sod. 1300-1735 picked up snap trap lines III A and III B.
