After eve. meal checked snap traps: one lemming - IX 5.8. June 14 0800-0945 Sacked live traps. No lemmings captured. Set out 25 more live traps above in high polygon area farther out along gas line. After lunch put up a longspur and a Red-backed sandpiper. Fed the carcasses to the wolverine in the west cage. 1800-2035 Checked snap and live traps - no lemmings captured. June 15 0745-1000 checked snap & live traps. 15-20 mph wind was blowing this morning. Fog obscured the sky. Mullen mentioned that an eskimo had brought in a bird - a short-eared owl. It had lain around for some time and was now in the freezer. I put the owl up after lunch. Sex was not determined, the gonads were not identifiable. Checked live traps at 1500.
