It happened that there was a cancellation on the plane - so Kiner decided to try to make it. Mullen, Holmer, Stevens and I joined in cruching Kiner's belong- ing into his suitcase, etc. Fortunately Brewer managed to detain the airplane (a commander's friend of his also wanted to make it - and would be a little late). So Kiner and I both made it - we raced to the airport - with Mullen at the control of a jeep - then stood around till almost noon - and boarded the plane.
