53 Journal Sullivan J. 1962 Barrow, Alaska 4 August Set lines XIII and XIV this morning abou, Nixen + Steven at Petun. These line (like XI and XII) were wet. In general - the water was more evenly distributed in average condition along the lines ½-1½" of water. Some dry spots existed. Set the lines even though condition was poor. Slipped grass for Mullen-Stevens (nu adam) feeding trials. Continued point sampling at F. Plot. Checked lines this evening. 15 August Barrow, Alaska Checked XIII and XIV - no take. Lots of traps sprung (many floating an inch or so of water - wind might have blown water onto treadle - snapping trap). Took point samples; helped Nixen set out hypsmeter and such. - Paper in setting these along Beach Ridge and in both Area (near line XI + XII). Checked lines. 16 August Barrow, Alaska Checked lines this morning - no captures as yet. Continued point sampling and worked on pt. sampling data in Lab. Since XIII and XIV were set out on the 14th (am) - They will have to stay out till morning for the full 3
