Someone drove a wheel right across the lines (perpendicular to both VII + VIII) giant recently - the grass is still flattened. 22 July Barrow, Alaska Checked lines with Steven this morning. Finished marking the brass pins for pt. sampling. Sampled the last ex- closure at Voth Area this afternoon. 2 samplings taken in line this evening - one on Beach Ridge, one in the marsh, also some Red-backed x chicks - 23 July Barrow, Alaska Sunny and very windy this morning. Walter Boyd, Zimmerman + float planes returned early this morning. Mullen + Hines to be picked up "as soon as the pilots are settled". Checked lines V, VI, VII + VIII. Hines + Mullen returned this afternoon. Took point samples. Checked trap lines this evening 24 July Barrow, Alaska Mahu to leave today. Checked lines this morning. Point samples this afternoon. Hines + Let out lines XIII + XIV this aft. Fertilizer plot is quite wet, little sign of lemming activity. Dulled in line 5,6,7,8 after supper with
