40 Journal Sullivan, J. 1962 Barrow, Alaska 17 july (cont.). Mullen + Winer were due back yesterday, float plane has now left (w/ Maku + Boyd) for an 18 hr. flight to Canada) - pilot Zimmerman. Brews will send plane to the dawn as soon as it's available. 20 july Barrow, Alaska Checked lines with Stevens this morning. A couple more juvenile lemmings, taken. To Voth Area for point samples this afternoon. Mike Adams helped Stevens and me pull in trap lines III A,B IV A,B, this evening - in time for Schulte's seminar on nutrient Cycles on the Tundra. Schulte talked mostly about phosphorus, comparing '59 and '60 levels at different times during the season. The talk was well-received; Weinrich was available. The fertilization plot work was discussed including the ultimate fate of last year's growth: a flock of geese. 21 july Barrow, Alaska Point sampled in Voth Area this morning. Overcast clay, a slight drizzle falling, and cold. This afternoon Stevens and I set out lines IV + VI (Beach Ridge) and VII + VIII (Central March). The march is still wet, many of the trap sites (toward the 10.0 angle) are wet. Very few active runways
