Journal Sullivan J. 1962 Barrow, Alaska 26 june (cont). Arrived Barrow 0245. Reported specimen in icebox. Sky very clear over Barrow now. Checked over snap traps (from Wainwright) this morning - one of the packs should be 2 traps short - added a couple extra to each pack. Mullen reports that I should be flying to Pitt Point Tonight or tomorrow. This afternoon Pitelka, Hiner, and I processed 58 Lemmings (which were collected by Native around Barrow Village). 27 june Barrow, Alaska Put up Dicortonyx skin from Wainwright this morning. Talked to Brewer about flight to Pitt Point (this afternoon ... maybe). Clarence Zolan, the outside mechanic, at Wainwright and the ARL boat were mentioned. Brewer will have paint + varnish for the boat seat over - Zolan will be kept in mind if live foper are needed by investigators. (Zolan is an accomplished trapper). ... Piepu will go on the P. Point trip to get clipping and soil samples. The plane will return for him after 3 or 4 hours. This afternoon Pitelka, Hiner, and I processed most of the 177 Lemmings brought in by the Eskimos. I put up another Dicortonyx skin. After supper we processed the remaining Lemmings. 2015-2200 Hiner and I pulled in
