journal Sullivan, 9 1962 Wainwright, Alaska flew off with a low cry. Checked traps this morning 1915-2115. 24 June Wainwright, Alaska Sea fog in today, also cold and intermittent winds. Dew Line Station on Sunday schedule - breakfast 8-9 AM, dinner at 3:30 pm. Checked traps 0900-1115. Went with "Clarence," the outside mechanic, to the river where there is an ARL boat. Clarence said he would paint it if we send over 2 quarts of gray and 1 of white, also could use some varnish for the inside. Clarence is the individual who trapped the 2 wolverines (at Barrow now). At the time of capture (1957), he was stationed at Pitt Point (Row 1). The animals were raiding some meat cache. Clarence rigged up a couple of drum traps and caught them. He had to weld them into the drums before a pilot would fly them to Barrow. Checked traps this evening - weather still bad - overcast and a light rain is falling.
