Journal Sullivan, J. 1962 Barrow, Alaska 19 June (cold) after snow flurries over. 2 Pomerine jagers in the area. Distributed field grain to the live traps - after supper started out to check and bring in liner III A + B. Stuck weasel 363 in outlet of Family Lapoun. A hole in the front of the weasel - let water in which flooded the engine. Walked back to camp, found weasel 366 with a switch (rather than a key - all keys locked in office and Satur at Nalukatak in Barrow). Got a rope from Pieper's lab and came one to help - towed 363 boat. It would go in low gear - limped back to camp. Met Satur on the road - got the key to 587 (weasel). Bst Pipus to help - pulled in liner by 2300. 20 June Barrow, Alaska Drove Pitella to Beach Ridge. Then checked live traps - one adult Lemming captured. Put up a lemming skin (one that had died in Muller's animal colony). This afternoon Maker, Steven and D to Liner IX and X - Maker went on to Beach Ridge to look for longpurs meets; Steven and D set out the trap lines. Weather overcast and cool. A brisk wind blowing while setting traps.
