0830-0940 Peeps and I checked snap traps - no
Capture. Another Rivera-like day at Bar-
ow - sunshine and warmth. Snow melt
proceeds rapidly. 0945-1130 Peeps and I
redistributed the live traps and set some
additional traps (total of 68).
1330-1615 Pitelka (rearing, aging, repod. data),
Hiner (recording) and I (weighing + measuring)
worked up data on a few hundred Lemmings
brought in from the environs of the vil-
lage by the eskimos. Mulling got some
original smear from 100 or so.
1615-1720 Checked live traps - no capture.
1845-2000 - back to the Lemmings - finished
off the sample. 2000-2200 Hiner, Steven,
and I checked Snap Trap lines I + II and
brought them in (3rd day). Weather-
more Barrow-like tonight: cold, a stiff
breeze, a little rain. Sun broke through
while we were freezing in the traps - very
clear and cool. Checked live traps on
way in. Wrote up notes - 2230.
