Sullivan, J. Barrow, Alaska Journal on the beach between Lij (and) Barrow. Arrived at Barrow at 20.15. August 12 This morning Holmes and I went South of Voith Area to lay out new census area. Rope turned out to be too short so returned to camp. Worked on plant specimen identification this afternoon. August 13 Worked on plant specimens in lab this morning. Planned flight to Cape Simpson to set up new trap lines. Worked out tentative schedule for remainder of trapping at Barrow. PM - set out lines I, II, IX, X. August 14 Took census walk this morning. Very little activity on the tundra. Longspurs seem to prevail among birds - all juveniles. Also checked traps this morning. Flight to Cape Simpson could be any day this week - so on stand-by for the flight. August 15 On standby for flight to Cape Simpson. Checked trap-lines and worked in lab on plant identification. Made out some identification sheets for particular plants. August 16 Checked traps this morning. Returned to lab to await flight to Cape Simpson. Worked on plant identification
