Cascade Springs quad. Red Gulch section Rough section from Minnewaste up. Mostly along old road cut through gap in ridge just W Bridal Veil Sp. 6.0-8.0 Sandstone, massive, weathers orange-red 3.0 covered 6.0 Limestone, fine-grained, gray (Minnewasta) in thick massive beds 10.0 Claystone, chiefly black, to gray at base where it contains some thin interbeds limestone in base 1.5 ft. Above this it is decreasingly calcareous, upper 3.0 ± is non-calc black clay. 5.5 Covered by slump except for upper foot which is greenish gray loc.shaly, sandy clsty. 9.0 Sandstone, fine-grained, massive, appears to have crinkled x bedding but this may be weathering phenon. Weathers light yellow-brown. Has white clayey blebs throughout 2m±. Top yellow stained with 0.2 ± silty 47
