Notes on 1956 Black Hills sections. Augustura Dm. Fell River clays tone tongue - top is unit 27, extends down to unit 22, which is sort of transition, (bottom never sharp) Total 27 thru 23 is 25 feet thick. Note that unit 22, locally thic kens at expense of overlying beds, bdr-like. Evzus Quarry sandstone, - is it unit '21 or units 19-20=21?.. Note mention, unit 20, of thin "leached" zone in shaly unit between sands. Unit 5 - has in it fractured polished pebbles with unpolished fracture surfaces. Unit 4 - ask if Fe specks spherulitic?
