Cloverly area - sections through contact zone #1.2 Off NE end of Frontier scarp in badlands SW of rd. Measuring down from crest of badland butte. 1.0+ Top of butte capped by plenty iron impreg, thin layer of hard purple-brown weath. siltst, probably no more than few inches thick - may be intermittent 2.5 Siltstone, interlaminated gray & white, very little clay in it. Frizble 6.0 Shale, silty, locally some siltst in thin beds + laminae, dark gray, Fe stained surfaces. Some zones brown sh. 3.0 Siltstone, shaly, and silty to finely sandy shale, locally fissile, some Fe stained silt layers. Chiefly shades of gray. Locally some small fissings purple weath. conks in lower 2' - may contain the fossils found in float. 28
