"a popcorn crust. Varies from black to brownish black with much plant frags. 0 - 2.0+ Sandstone, local lousgs, very fine grained, grades locally to siltst. Forms small channels beneath overlying platy beds. White weathers buff, O.B or greyish white. 16.0+ Shale, black, interbedded to interlam- inated with shaly, cork, siltstone and lignitic brown shale. Lower 5.0 chiefly platy dk gray siltst, weath shaly bluish gray. Some black clsty layers locally but chiefly a shaly. grades thru grey green color change to unit about 2.8 Shale, silty, gray + green gray, grading to a blocky clayey siltst upward 10,0+ Siltstone, clayey, hard messily mottled grey and tan. Weathers to tan to O.B outcrop. has few thin beds resistant 55
