Bottom of pit W-29 Badlands in Newcastle Gross roots. 7,7 Siltstone, laminated, light grey, locally fine-sand. locally, 1ft from top is brown conc. Fe in sandy zone (0,8±); another conc. Fe zone 5" from top. In basal 11/2 silt gets progressively more clayey, darker, grades into hard silty clstn then into unit below. About basal 2' massive rather than laminated).
