Sep 21-96 Thursday A little before first dawn by air to appear and so far there is a mass of some of interest fire red color for a great distance to the N.N.E. This does grow practically remains unchanged until the time is set dark and when you see that are the Glistering lights on the plains far below. At 5.37 the edge of the sun not the apex of circle but a melting iron band appears. It soon attains its circular form and in five minutes is in full view. There are no clouds and the only tinty is the atmosphere described above. Thermometer at Sunrise 25° The shadow of the Pearl is near on the East and like them of the other suns described above.
