June 10-1898 Spent the morning picking specimens from Dr. Blunt's boxes. Picked out quite collection. This material from many localities in the vicinity of Ledalia and should be labeled Pettis county near Ledalia Mo. The Chert fossils are from the very top of the Chesterian immediately underneath the Burlington. In the afternoon collected a few fossils in a quarry about six miles east of Ledalia. The lower 10 to 15 feet are exposed.
