Along the eastern end of the hill th[rough which]
the road to [illegible] from the Little Canon one can see
the red beds and [illegible].
coming over the
Towers crest. Passing over to the S, the same beds,
suddenly from 500 feet above to the S., and in the
distance the Benton is seen dipping about 10° N.
The orthorust fault is most marked at the
Little Canon.
In this region beneath the Frey Outlet Limestone
There must be at least 400 feet of Red Beds. Towards
the bottom a number of thick gneissic sands
having offsets and near the center where the
first thickness of gypsum veins.
My section can be said to follow the true Course
of the Bluffs along a N. & S. line since this is the
line of the two Canons. Am however not quite along that line.
My picture of yesterday looking through the Little
Canon at the Red Triassic bygone is taken from
the Freyellet Ld knaps. Deane looking about
a mile far strata dip 70° to S to this dipping
about 10° N. Then go through the arch,
Treats then left Coof for home today.
