I came over the Dakota cylmudite after
passing over the crest which dived down into a valley
which has the dinosaur horizon and
on the other side of the [illegible] the Dakota cylmudite upon
the continuation of the hill instead of going on Freeze
Out but passed down the valley north and
west along the great ravine westward. Here my
attention was attracted to large mass of sand-
stone. I then concluded to climb the
ridge facing the setting sun and inside the
section on the previous page. I was partly
surprised to see that here the dinosaur
horizon instead of being shale throughout has at
least a foot or two of heavy bedded sandstone.
Here as elsewhere the marine Jurassic
holds its position. The four fossils gathered
are also in the section for this horizon. The
thickness here appear to be the same as at
Como Bluff. The character of the beds and
facies of the so called fresh water
deposits are different.
