Twin Buttes in synclinal trough
in SE 1/4, SE 1/4, SE 1/4, Sec. 14,
T 9 S, R 24 E, Carbon Co, Mont.

Buttes show a seq of
soils consisting of
mudst x siltst, some
with vert. & hor. rooting.
These are interbedded w/ x-bedded ss channels
No plant leaves found,
only roots or rhizomes
& some minor amounts of
petrified wood.
