Sep. 29 - 1944. Monday. With the Keitts and visiting. Sep. 30 - 1944. Tuesday, To-day Dr. Keitt is to celebrate his 60th birthday. The day is a navy one. In the afternoon Mrs Keitt is baking a cake and mulling four quarts of liquor for a party this evening with the Bogle's and the Hoffman's. In the morning Keith drove around in the car to pull together all the recessaries for the evening. Oct 1 - 1944. Wednesday. A quiet day. Keith tells me that the Barne granite cuts below Ordovician metamorphosized strata. These same granite, in the Lakes Memphremagog area cut out metamorphose Middle Devonian strata. Thus for these granites are just Middle Devonia, The Pennsylvania strata of western Maine.
