at least too far back. Its age is unknown. Reith is disposed to think that the Iroquois conglomerate and the Bergen slates are late Ordovician age. To me this seems many, what further Reith is that these slate are or bear the Beech mountain delimits that he is indis- poded to assign them as equivalents. I told him they may be of separate times, but this conclusion remains to be proved. The test evidence that the Bergen slates are early Ordo- vician is that the Iroquois conglomerate (tillite) agree with the Quebec conglomerate and these are interwelded with Tetrapogon, Phyllograpton, ad Didemographus. For the present Reith fetter leave the Iroquois ad Bergen in the case of the Ordovician.
