Packages of rocks become thinner +
less blocky; also more shale coming
in at upper 20ft. See Leverson + Gerk
(1972 Iowa Road.Sei, Fig.2) - we agree
with graphic sect. for Dubuque here + below.
We 1st visited this locality then loc.9?
Leverson, Gerk+ Broadhead loc.10.
> gate was locked but CR walking
down road to X: loc.10. Rovang X, 3 1/2 miles S+
8 1/4 mile E of Decorah. ->
Single lane bridge crosses stream
X m S side of [illegible] road + east side
of creek).
12"shaly bed is well seen at both 9+10 and
at 10 to 12' below Dubuque-Maquoketa contact. (See L,G,+B,1979)
Both locs 9+10 are comparable
in what they show. We don't think?
Dubuque Fm is as thick @ a 34ft. but
only ca 20ft. - but exposures are
limited (also L,G,+B,1979 use a "marker" bed which is usually
lower than change to the LS/sh pattern typical of the Dubuque.)
