brachiopods - a shell hash
in calcarenite. Fine calcitute
below calcarenite. 3"-4" diam
orthocerid molluscs; trilobites

late ledges (V. thin) 2'-3'- not V.
peristent from lower 1/3 to bottom
of upper 1/3 of Decorah Shale.
V. dark grey to brownish black band
1 ft plus thick of shale with shell
hash here & there at top of it.
Pyrite. & Shell hash of brachiopods.
This suggests a sudden deepening
event creating anoxic shale
environment.
