The Cincinnati Series (Stage?) may be characterized as a broadly
gradually shallowing upward succession from deeper water
mud-carbonate facies into shallow water dolomitic
siltstone and dololimestone facies. At its base is a sudden rapid
abrupt change from the predominantly carbonates of the
underlying Lexington Group into shales/siltstone/thin limestone
paracycles.
