6/20/98 Left motel in Marion, IL at 7:15 am. Took I-57 south to IL 146 west to Anna and Ware then south in IL 146 to Cape Girardeau (Missouri). Over bridge across Mississippi River. New bridge is being constructed immediately south of old bridge. A new “town” has been established adjacent to I-55. As it was raining we explored KMart and Schucks’s food store. Silurian. 6/21/98 Drove from Marion, Illinois to Dubuque, Iowa. Took I-57 to near Mt. Vernon and then took I-64, then Illinois 4 (stop after Scott Air Force Base) to I-55 (near Worden).
