CS saw 2 1/2 foot diameter colony of
same tree; branch diam ca 17cm;
no monticules. This was a huge
float block in river bed at
bottom of creek, just upstream from
bridge ("new" bridge). Old bridge
has been removed.
We took some float samples
to see if they approximated to
collection sites in 1963 so we
would have an orientation
on where we were in old road
section. Coll. 5/19/95 A-F. Coll. 5/19/95 G
was float in roadway gravel.
Late is a bluish-green-grey;
v. nodular bedding; v. diverse
fauna & extensive burrowing
at bottom of creek, Late more
thickly bedded incl. calacarenite
bed if at least 1 1/2 feet
Interstate 70 - 14 miles E. of Ohio line - Mack
Lake - good road section
