Crustacea, Chaetoz milliponaceus, Pseudomantis and primitive Fusulina. Among also a Muss., bird run - Palaeacri. In the muds but has at least 170 species, Mr. R. C. Archer is also studying the Band faunas and he tells me he has 165 species. He is of the Univ. of Kansas, and State Geologist. I think he is to publish on the matter. H. J. Addings of Baylor Medical College, Dallas is at work on the Lower Cretaceous fauna and is disposed to make entry our function on it from 1t faunas. The distribution of these do not agree with his classification. I told him I should read his paper. He wants to publish soon. In Arant and other upper li that did appear, in connection with the Hogshooter li., a very persistent li. known fromites above the Greenh. He also has striated surfaces, as if made by ice in an interval of at least 1000 feet between the Arant and Elgin li. They do not look to me like ice grooving. But they are too regular to suggest anything other than slicken siding. Powers Lawson says they are oval or crooked. I would classify them as a last result due to ice.
