Saturday Comstock - San Antonio, April 10, 1936, Left Comstock at 7.30 A.M. & it to Del Rio, 30 miles E, at 8:30. The small Eurygyra arietina slat is from 5 miles W. of Del Rio From Del Rio to San Antonio it is 16 1/2 miles. At mr 10 miles W. of Uvalde are stopped at the large road metal quarry in the Cenachua limestone of the upper Cretaceous. Here the lower 12 ft or y li. are chayed through out with asphalt and this forms li. but is a good illustration where oil design looks like under ground. It in this lower that is quarried and the over- lying material is stripped away. The section here is about as follows: Soil at mr 2 feet Chalky li., at mr 5 feet. Impedrious clay 7-10 feet. Asphalt li., about 12 feet. Have of thin layers from pieces. Five miles E. of Uvalde passed a great plug of intrusive Basalt of the Texas Trap Rock Co. And it is in Columina Dallas
