was continually churned up, killing all the life in its earlier stages. Nothing had time to grow to maturity excepting the gulfic genus things like Rhombophora and small forms of Fuscelina. I saw in John's collection Fuscelina constantly looked for and got I am certain that the led gare of Pennsylvanian age. It is impossible to say what part of the Penn. they belong to, but the list of species presents either hidden or barren strata that the simple is probably of Septaula time. The Iron Ore intruded igneous masses does all appear to have affected the strike and dips of the Permian strata, but Mr. Baldwin's account or first gave are the impression that it was injected in Pennsylvanian time. In speaking to Mr. Blanchard of this fact in the day after the impression that this igneous mass does not close except those of the merignigate strata traverse or its time of injection.
