18 8/8/57 Coll. 8/8/57/1 - This is a collection from a new road cut through the terrain about 12 miles east of Marathon. This collection is from a shale interval appearing in an anticline and are older than the rest collected. Coll. 8/8/57/2 - Same locality as 8/8/57/1, but from a Sandstone horizon higher the section. There are on the west side of an apparent anticline, or S the beds are vertical to slightly over- turned. The harder strata were sampled for a representative collection. Coll. 8/8/57/3 - Shales from Dimple 1/2 cast of 8/8/57/1+2 Coll. 8/8/57/4 - LS, from Dimple, location as 8/8/57/3 coll. 8/8/57/5 - Sandstone from Naye, 2 1/2 mile east of location 3rd. 19 Collection 8/8/57/6 - shale, same location as 8/8/57/5. Shipped 140# of rocks to Peabody Museum.
