They were all within a small area - maybe 100 x 100 ft - for several minutes before 2-bird chases broke things up. Migration: 1 loon → S. 300 Red Phalaropes in air at once in ~5 big flocks over S. Meadow Lque. 20 Golden Plovers in 2 flocks grazing on gasoline ridge, 100 Oldsquaws together on water near "top-of-the-world" bridge; 70 → E in V-flock over Drum area at 2400 Longspurs: checked JBP nests 1530-1700. Weighed and banded Drum nests 2330-2430, plus changed film speed.
