Remsen, J.V. 1972 Journal Lemmings: 4 at site 1 - seem to becoming scarce Predators: nothins new Longspurs: Chanced nest camera Films 0840-0900. Feeding observations 0900-1100 and with TWC 1445-1630 Shorebirds: White-rumped Sandpiper displaying at same spot as yesterday - only one bird could be found. Seen to displace and chase Semipalmated. Bairds also seen to chase Semipalmated - New Semipalmated nest found w. of road near cattle-eater - 4 eggs. Buff-breasted still is same place. Continued to display. They don't just hold their wings up but they rotate it backwards actively. The crazy hops into the air must achieve maximum exposure of armpits Migration: 12 Black Brant → E, 2 loons → E 22 June NARL, Barrow, Alaska Locations: IBP sites 1+7, Village Ridge Times: 0830-1200, 1340-1745 Wind: 10-20 mph Temp: 35° Sky: overcast to p.c.
