Heavy cuttings in spotson Gasline Ridge. One Collared Lemming shown to me by Batzli's assistant, taken from live trap. Predators: Dark Parasitic escorted from Pomarine territory at JBP-1; another dark Parasitic seen along beach. Long-tailed seen over S. Headow Lake. 1 Snowy Owl e. of S. Headow Lake. Another in Britton area. Longspurs: TWC and I did vegetation sampling at Site 1 from 1200-1430. Censused JBP Bird Transect and JBP site 1 for longspurs 2130-2400. Changed longspur nest camera films 2400. Migration: at Gaswell x Village Rd pond, 4 ♀ No. Phalaropes, and one Sanderling; also a Red Phalarope in full non-breeding plumage. Yellow-billed Loon flying east. Shorebird courtship: White-rumped Sandpiper giving courtship display n. of JBP 1. Flew towards Village Ridge, maybe due west, and landed. Same spot
