Remsen, J.V. 1972 Journal From vantage points such as Village Ridge, one can see flocks of 20-30 Glaucoous Gulls just resting on the fundra. Longspurs: Chanced time lapse films at approximately 0845, moving one camera off a Red Phalarope nest and back to previous longspur nest. Time-activity plus territory data gathered from 0930-1200, 2030- 2200. Female at nest 1 seen to viciously chase male SY-YR (color band combo); male SY-RB is the male attending that female. NARL, Barrow, Alaska 18 June Location: IBP sites 1+7, Village Ridge (with Dr. Frank Pitelka) Wind: 10-20 Temp: 35-40 Sky: overcast Ground: much drying of standing water in last two days. Species: Pintail 10 (nest u/5 eggs reported by Jeff Myll) Oldsquaw 5 Steller's Eider 10 (Courtship observed - Am. Golden Plover 1 Ruddy Turnstone 2 Punlin 10 - nest/4 eggs Village Ridge Pectoral Sandpiper 20 Baird's Sandpiper 6 Semipalmated Sandpiper 20 Curlew Sandpiper 2 (♂, ♀) - eggs - CSA)
