Norton's assistant reported successful hatchings of a one egg phalarope nest. Buff-breasted s have definitely left. Migration: 1 Black-bellied Plover flying south, giving same "tyooooee" call given on wintering grounds; black axillaries (extending far out on wing) and white vent also seen. Longspurs: Opened IBP traps 0830; checked at 1100, 1430, 1600, 1830, and by TWC at 220G. Large numbers of unbanded birds caught, included a number of females. 9 July NARL, Barrow Alaska Dr. F.A.
