Nov. 14. Went to the everglades in boat. It was a very unsatisfactory trip in some ways, not clock water to get to the hammocks, and there very dense small trees. Heard several alligators croaking just above the N. Fork, and saw one. The snipes were lined with fish, and some were jumping 3-4 ft. in air almost all the time. Just below the falls got a little Spiranthes odorata, some 2ft. tall. Also got some fine Drosera flaccida. In the first hammock we entered S.T.C. found one a two Hab. Calyzeris
