Nov. 9 Started on trip D Lands end. Sorent Simpson didn't come. Looked road to Cutler the very mean, limereck surface, and woods, mustly pine, are all bare and barrenous. Ever- glades linereck all but 1-6" which is mud. Roughest going imagin- able. Sometimes there's water, at others curdu- roy roads, often filled or submerged. Saw Trifolium in 2 places in fruit. It grows in a red dust sand on the linereck, often inserted in the holes. Entirely similar to Bletch
