They soon die when the leaves fall from crown, and case of Vittaria they persist in stunted condition on N side. Poly. circum is a moss. Grows well enough on tops of horizontal limbs, where the moisture falls directly on it. In deep swamps Vittaria may grow all down trunks of palm, Jussie, as often when growing in water or deeper shade the sporlings grow very freely. Poly. Phyllitidis, all I have seen of it, grows at bases of old trees.
