Winter visitors the
Creeper, kinglets etc: yet
today I heard a tree-cr
grass cricket under the
oaks near the laboratory,
in a sunny place, his
song vivacious, yet
with a touch of sadness
in harmony with the
impending death, both of
the year and himself.
Morning at Philadelphia
after a night on which
I knew every important
tip. The time at the ferry
awoke me and most have
everybody else. The night
was a study in metabolism.
Allowing that waking,
it's consequent loss of energy
is catabolic and sleep and
