Fox Ridge east of Porelo -
No good exposures. Fox Buttes (see
Choyenne Pos. Map) are breaks, not
buttes. Include Trail City or
equivalent transition beds with
barren cones - though no good
exposures and TC-Elk Bulte contact
not seen. Top of divide S of
Mossman contains fossils,
Lower Timber Lake (in sloly phase)
Upper TE cones which we
collected at Charles O'Neals
ranch where they are floating
out at edge of flat. Some
prob, in place or near it.

Bluffs of Fox Ridge south of Eagle Butte.
Loc-
Old locality 14 on S.D. 63 overgrown,
but cones in cuts and as float in
bluffs. Southernmost hill on road
(to right - old rd went around it on W, new
on E.) contains some fossilic cones.
Its probably a slump block. Sample/
S.D.63 So. US 212 has numerous complete
of them small species. Check to see
whether this form localized in Fox
Ridge localities.
