JPMeyers 1980 Calidris malleatus GRID3, NARL, Burrow, Alaska 27 June 1330 - Redhead hen laid her 4th egg. GW:6M is again with flee 8', LIMP, She visited yesterday. I began tracking GW:6M@1340, I lost her so for some time (minute 34→78) 1450 - watching Redhead fed by (2,7) slabs. Q Y:Ym flies off her nest from Bm away to chase Redhead. 1539 tracking GW:6M again. Curious observation — from 2-3 meters, 8' (her scar) suddenly flew aggressively toward GW:6M + circle her around — flies back toward territory center with her. Then immediately the neighbor 8' (Q) rose from nowhere and did a border swoop, indicating that GW:6M had been in his area. Please center of 8's area It looked to me as if 8' needed GW:6M! 1645 began tracking GW:6M again after a brief hiatus. Looks to me as if her vent is swelling. 1656 8' has been L16C @20m distance from Q. She begins to approach him, clurring slightly. He crouches down, cocks tail. She continues to approach, and comes to within 2m. He swivels to Rb as she comes to within 20cm and leads beyond him; he starts running after her, Rb, then begins to squawk with both wings up, then one wing up. He flies off @1825 1705 Another HERDING INCIDENT (see 1539, above): GW:6M has been steadily flying toward LIMP's border w/ 8' around (2,10). Suddenly at 1704:45 he began clurring aggressively from 20m away. He flew at her, forcing her back and around so that she flew away from the border — more central to his territory [see
