Section #1, Measuring up from lower bentonite with
associated jarosite, river bluff face in
(1) 18.7 Silty clay and clayey silt, dark gray
with irregular layers and blobs of
silt - mixed aspect. Has some
blobs jarosite. Weathers light gray.
Has 1.0 yellowish green-gray bentonite
at base with cone-in-cone and
gypsum. Some of the silt pockets
include v.f.q. sand grains. At top zone is
cones, grains weather light brown, some yell. calcite.
Mixed silty clay and clayey silt with
silt predominating; some lummzo vfg
sand; gray to dk.gray weaths gray to
light gray. Some local Ob & jarosite
stuv in sandy layers. At top is
sparse scattering limestone cones up
to 1ft, weath. light creamy gray,
mg stain on creek surfaces.
(2) 24.0
(3) 8.8 Clayey silt as above, with 0.7 blue
gray bentonite at top. Sctt. cone-in-cone
cones & local assoc. ls cones. Bentonite shot
with small interconnecting borings in upper 2".
(4) 5.0 Clayey dk gray silt as above with
local ls.conc, ledges about 0.5 thick
about 3.5-4 above base. Weath. light
yellow-gray
(5) 13.5 Silt, somewhat clayey, with more
intermixed sand than in units
below; mottled grayish brown brown
gray with local Fe stain, weaths
