The bentonite + cone-in-cone of section 73
(unit ) is conspicuous here and has
jauosite associated with it in prominent
bouts for about 4 to 5 feet beneath the
cone-in-cone layer.
Large sphenociscids locally present loose in
silty shale above the bentonite (15'+).
Bru, weath, purplish cones with yellow
calcite are slumped along foot slope
locally and yielded to ammonites (Sample 1)
These cones could be coming in above
big bentonite or out from below it -
can't tell here.
Upper bentonite in here too but most the
fossiliferous cones seem to be coming in
above it. At least 25' of beds with
cone zones above it here
