Comments The beds below the oyster bed at section 2 contain the purple-brown shale but below this the buff weather lower sandstone of section #1 has graded laterally into a banded-bed sequence with numerous thin beds of sand. (The section compares fairly closely with the Damberg ranch section in which oysters at grass roots are in clay sequence above the sandstone.
