At south end of cliff, measuring up from
the oyster bed. Unit 1 of this section
is equivalent to unit 9 of section #1; it
is 'shazier'
(1) 8.9 Shale, fissile gray to dk gray clay.
Shale (Sample 2) with some thin
interbeds of buff weth ss lower 2'
and oyster bed at bzsc. Frunz of
oyster bed = Sample 1.-fossils; Sample
2 (shale 0-3' and 3' to 8' above oyster bed)
(2) 39.2 Sandstone, fq and vfg, chiefly buff
weth, loc cliff-forming, tabular x 12m
som x-bedding but chiefly x 12m, lower
8.0 has lzycos clayey vfg szud, weths
gray. Zones OB Stein and
locally (22.5 from bzsc about 2.10
indurated x 12m ledge. Above this
ledge move uniform f>cc tzb x 12m
to x bed. ss.. At top back from
cliff ss weth rounded. Hzs jzosite
concentr. at top.
(3) 5.0 Shale, liquefied, silty weths
purple-brown in lower 2.10+ and
grades up into lite gray shale
with plant frags and OB weth
Fe. concs.
(4) 5.0- Popcorn slope on bentonite(
silty clay to grass roots
